Today's excursion will bring you to Longsheng Autonomous County, 90kms northwest to Guilin and will take around 2.5 hours on road for one way driving. In this tour you will not only enjoy the wonderful view of terraced rice paddies - the most famous section is called "Longji", lush bamboo groves and old small villages on the hillside along the way, but also be amazed by the rich culture of the Zhuang and Yao people. In the late afternoon, you will transfer back to hotel.
Longsheng Rice Terraces (Longji): This is an minority area of Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups, where you can not only overview the charming scenery of terrace rice filed, but also get a chance to learn about the minority people’s daily life and their special architectures in the rural areas.
Zhuang Minority Village: With over 17 million people, Zhuang is the largest ethnic minority group in China. Zhuang people who live in Longji still remain the exquisite Zhuang costume and ancient simple living customs. The village still maintains its traditional three storied wood buildings with hemp railing. It is the typical high foot railing style construction.
Yao Minority Village: Yao is another major ethnic group living in Guilin area that has a population over 2 million all over China, the extremely important characteristic of the village is that it's known as the Long-hair Village.
